Support all Insight & Consulting activities for Wealth Management, including: data stewardship, delivery of high quality Insight-based products and services and thought leadership within the UK financial services industry.

Key Responsibilities

Keep up to date with developments within UK Financial Services, in terms of products, the market, and the industry. Support the team with building and managing effective relationships with a network of relevant industry contacts.

Focusing on assigned specialist areas, liaise with relevant individuals (both internal and external) to help identify the future data / information needs of their clients.Provide specialist insight into the design, development and population of data tables within their databases.

Work closely with the relevant Research Manager and individual Researchers on plans and processes for the collection of product data and also the development (and continuous improvement) of processes and procedures to ensure the relevance, completeness, accuracy and timeliness of data.

Conduct regular data audits and provide constructive feedback. Provide training, where appropriate, to support improvements in data quality.

Perform the Researcher role from time to time in order to cover absence, support times of peak workload and maintain up-to-date knowledge of research and data input processes and procedures.

Contribute towards the formulation, maintenance and development of methodologies to create Ratings reflecting the quality of financial products and services within assigned specialist areas. Support the identification and development of opportunities for new Ratings.

Support the completion of the annual Ratings cycle, from the determination of criteria (including preparation for and potentially presentation at the annual round-table discussions with Providers), to the scoring and ranking of financial products and services, involving the manipulation of large volumes of data and the production of reports to meet annual deadlines.

Support the delivery of agreed client projects on time and to high quality standards, within agreed resource budget. Liaise with relevant client contact at key project points to clarify and manage client expectations. Escalate any issues to the relevant Senior Account Manager and/or Head of Insight & Consulting.

Support the delivery of content addressing Provider / Intermediary / Consumer audiences related to assigned specialist areas - including publications, articles, commentary, newsletters, website content, PR activity, etc. Work closely with the Marketing team to ensure delivered content is on-message.

Support the Sales teams to generate sales opportunities - attending and contributing to client meetings and other commercial interactions where appropriate.

Degree, or relevant professional qualifications, or equivalent ability demonstrated through experience

Professionally qualified to Level 3, working towards Level 4

Evidence of continuing professional development

Media training


Good working knowledge of the UK retail financial services market, including the financial adviser market

Detailed and extensive technical knowledge of one or more of the following specialist areas:

Mainstream retail investment products (including investment bonds and collectives)

Pensions savings products (including SIPPs)

Platforms and variations

Retirement income products & solutions

Highly IT literate, with good knowledge of Word and PowerPoint, and Advanced knowledge of Excel

Excellent general knowledge and understanding of all mainstream retail investment products

Thorough understanding of product design and distribution within Wealth Management

Awareness of our products and services

Advanced knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint

Good technical knowledge of any of the following specialist areas:

Protection Insurance products

Funds (including OEICs, Unit Trusts, ETFs, Investment Trusts and Insured Funds/Mirror Funds)
