As a Banking Assistant, you will be responsible for the accurate allocation and reconciliation of receipts and payments in and out of the business. You will work with our finance teams that cover our EMEA business to ensure all activities are concluded efficiently, accurately and within the allocated deadlines.

Activities include:

  • Accurate daily processing of customer payments, in multiple currencies

  • Ensure all bank statement transactions are identified and processed or investigated

  • Daily reconciliation of West bank accounts and investigation of any outstanding transactions

  • Investigation of customer payment queries and unassigned monies

  • Checking and organising customer refunds where appropriate

  • Complete month end reconciliations

  • Other ad-hoc duties for the finance department as required

What you'll bring…

  • GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths

  • Ability to apply logic to calculations and processes

  • Good computer skills in Outlook, Excel and Word

  • Professional communication skills for dealing with internal and external queries by email telephone and face to face

  • Ability to work on own initiative, and as part of a team, able to take responsibility for own actions and use common sense

  • Demonstrable ability to maintain consistent high levels of quality, accuracy and efficiency while working to tight deadlines

  • Well organised, capable of prioritising, able to work to agreed deadlines

  • Flexible approach to working including occasional weekends and bank holidays to ensure month end reconciliation

  • Excellent timekeeping.

  • Experience in accounting not essential as full training provided
