The Role:

  • Provide independent opinion to Front-Office on credit, settlement and liquidity risks
  • Manage and be responsible for, the branch's Credit and Transaction Management Unit
  • Manage a team of up to 4 people
  • Play a pivotal role between Front-Office, Compliance, Back-Office, Treasury and Finance
  • First point of contact for all credit and counterparty risks related matters
  • Liaise with other departments in the branch and in Head-Office regarding implementation of credit risk related issues, KYC/CDD related issues and reporting matters involving branch and Head-Office's systems
  • Attend local commercial meetings (with the GM, Head of RCCD and Front-Office team heads)
  • Review credit applications, waivers and amendments independently
  • Be involved in distressed asset exit strategies, forbearances or foreclosures as and when required
  • Participate actively in the branch's credit approval process at each step
  • Attend local credit meetings to provide an independent opinion on credit applications

Experience Required:

  • Previous experience in either a front-office or credit risk management team.
  • In-depth experience of the UK banking environment
  • Credit training and Portfolio Management experience gained with a commercial bank.
  • Role model for gravitas, professional behaviour, positive attitude and integrity
  • Comfortable working in a multicultural and diverse environment
  • Good understanding of commercial bank loans, treasury products, and related accounting procedures, and regulatory requirements
  • Good understanding of prudential aspects e.g. risk/reward, capital adequacy, liquidity risk, ALM, etc.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage a variety of duties simultaneously and to prioritise
  • Ability to assess compliance with laws, regulations and internal standards
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and Access)
