Our client is a growing and well established financial services business. The newly created role of Operational Risk Officer will report to the Head of Risk & Compliance (HRC) and will be responsible for assisting in the identification and mitigation of emerging and current risks through proportionate risk controls and oversight and provide any general or technical risk support and guidance as required

The role-

  • Maintain a detailed knowledge of relevant external risk management practices and requirements,championingbestpracticetoassisttheBusinesstoeffectively manageand mitigaterisk
  • Provide clear,pragmaticandproportionateguidanceontheinterpretationandapplicationof risk managementrequirementsanddevelopments
  • Actasaprincipalpointofcontactonriskmanagementqueriesforallcolleagues,assisting theeducationprocessof arobustframeworkacrossthebusiness
  • DevelopandimplementriskmanagementproceduresthroughouttheBusinesstopromote robustcontrolsandmitigation(focusedon goodcustomeroutcomes)
  • Identifyandhelpmitigaterisksandissuesaffecting theBusiness, recommendingactionsto mitigatetherisks.EnsuremorecomplexriskissuesareescalatedtotheHRC
  • SupporttheHRCinthecreationanddeliveryofstrategic,proportionateandeffectiverisk profilereportsacrossthebusiness
  • SupporttheHRCtodeliveraneffectiveandappropriateriskmanagementframeworkand risk profiles,includingthemonitoringofCEOownedrisk mitigationplans.
  • Provideproactiveriskmanagementadviceacrossthe business,proactivelyidentifying emergingrisksandsupportingmanagementtoidentifyandundertakeappropriateactions;
  • Supportingthe business toidentifyandmanagebreaches and/orincidentsandassistthe introductionof mitigationcontrolstopreventreoccurrence
  • Monitor therespective businessriskprofiles,providing supporttoensuretheCEOowned plansareeffectivelyimplemented

Key Requirements-

  • Proven experience in risk management within Financial Services
  • Strong technical risk knowledge and the ability to implement a risk management framework
  • Strong knowledge of risk management and conduct risk
  • Ability to anticipate issues, identify solutions and provide clear guidance
