My client, based in the City have an exciting opportunity for an individual with expertise within the Precious Metals market who is looking for an opportunity to expand their skills and contribute in both the marketing and trading areas in the division.

You will be required to maintain and expand business with existing customers as well as develop new business opportunities.


  • Principal function is the maintenance and further development of customer-related business in precious metals, limited geographically to the EMEA region but with scope to work elsewhere where appropriate and with prior agreement of senior management;
  • Responsible for managing an assigned group of customer accounts as primary marketer and for providing back-up marketing support for other customers, as agreed with senior management;
  • Identify new customer and business counterparts within the broad strategic plan laid down by senior management;
  • Support Head Trader and cover as necessary
  • Ensure that customer business is booked correctly and in a timely manner and that traders and mid/back office are advised to ensure correct risk and liquidity management and that administrative procedures can be handled efficiently
  • Maintain customer database and market analysis spreadsheets
  • Mid office administration and other tasks as required by senior management
  • Cooperate closely with the precious metals trading desks in London, New York and Tokyo and promote the sharing of ideas and information;
  • Ensure that business is transacted in strict adherence to general compliance rules and the company's internal controls;


  • Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of all aspects of the precious metals market (Including specifically Leasing/Swaps & the physical business in PGMs , Ag & Au)
  • Strong marketing and deal making skills
  • Proven track record of closing deals and creating profitable new business opportunities
  • Educated to degree level in a relevant subject (overseas equivalents apply)
  • Advanced Excel skills, intermediate level required for Outlook, Word and PowerPoint
  • Self starter, able to work on own initiative and without direct supervision
  • Excellent written and verbal English language skills
  • Strong team player, within immediate team/wider Metals trading department and internal colleagues
  • Flexible and responsive to business demands
  • Works well under pressure
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to develop strong working relationships with stakeholders
  • Works within set parameters observing company protocols, procedures and internal control standards
  • Ability to express divergent views with tact and diplomacy


  • Good understanding and knowledge of relevant legal documentation, credit assessment and control and risk management (Including specifically Lease Agreements, Inter-creditor Agreements, ISDA/CSA)
  • Strong organisation and time management skills Knowledge of an additional European language would be an advantage
